Managers

The first manager of the plant was Henry Child, who came on board during the construction phase.  He remained manager until the fall of 1890.  He  moved from California to Montana in the early 1880s.

                               

Frank M. Smith

The last manager was Frank M. Smith, who began his career at the smelter as the superintendent in October 1893.  He was promoted to manger in January 1898.  He was born in 1866 in Pennsylvania and graduated from the school of mines at Columbia University in 1889.  He was a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers and also of the Montana Society of Engineers.
